MammasteMammaste (rhymes with namaste) was born when my daughter customized a pair of Converse® shoes for me for Mother's Day 2007 and misspelled 'namaste' as 'mamaste' on the heel strip. When the shoes arrived, I was delighted with the misspelling, and wore them everywhere. People loved them and seemed to intuit immediately what 'mamaste' meant, wondering where they could buy a pair for themselves. So, after tweaking the name slightly to make it uniquely our own, we created Mammaste, LLC.

Since that serendipitous spelling error, Mammaste has evolved into a company that through its message, products and philanthropy promotes loving the whole world with a mother's heart and reminds us to see divinity in ourselves and others, every day.

custom Converse Mammaste is not affiliated with any particular religion. We believe, as Rumi said; "In every religion there is love, yet love has no religion." The messages written on Mammaste products resonate unconditional love, rippling it out into the world. It is a love that we believe can change the world. After all, Mammaste is all about the love, baby.

A meaningful percentage of our profits support organizations that serve those in need. Our current non-profit recipient is Women for Women International. Women for Women International supports women in war-torn regions with financial and emotional aid, job-skills training, rights education and small business assistance so they can rebuild their lives.

Mammaste, there really is so much divinity in the everyday.
